Olympian Apolo Ohno visits Saint Malachy School

Saint Malachy School is a Catholic Archdiocesan elementary school located at 11th and Master Streets in North Philadelphia, one of the most impoverished areas in the city. Three out of four families meet the federal poverty guidelines. Through the vision and leadership of Fr. McNamee, Saint Malachy School is one of the most successful, best equipped and staffed elementary schools in the inner-city. The school serves more than 200 low-income minority students of diverse religious beliefs. Graduates of Saint Malachy School – through the efforts and sacrifices of caring parents, teachers, donors and volunteers – have been educated in an atmosphere that sets high standards for achievement, personal responsibility and service.
